All Ireland Fleadh Cavan 2011

August 30, 2011

The All Ireland Fleadh has come and gone for another year. I think everyone can agree it was a great week. Lots of music, sessions, craic and even the weather behaved itself for the most part!

Cathy Potter on the harp

On Monday night we had a great session in the house before we hit the town! We had accordion, harp, flute and my brother Lorcans newly acquired pipes to add to what is usually a fiddle only session. Nothing like a few tunes in the house to get you into the swing of things.

Later Monday night in Arthurs Bar, Cavan

We had a great walk around the town on Tuesday and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the town.

The students were out in full force on the streets creating a magnificent atmosphere.

Friday morning I popped into Cavan to see the John Murray show. They had some great musicians on the show such as Cherish the Ladies and much more musical talent from around the world.

Friday night I had the launch of Findtradfolk. We had a great night in the Slieve Rossa pub on College St. There was a great turn out and great music was played.
